Sofita

after a few invitations declined due to malaise, depreciation, cold-bloodedness  and various sci-fi reasons, one has been accepted and last Friday my good friend M. and I, headed in a music live down town. a wise thing to do because we spent a few anti-depressing hours. something we both really needed.
what we watched was six multi-talented people on the same stage in perfect harmony. Sofita and her marvelous band feat. Marina Satti. Dimitris Kassis guitar, Apostolis Mpournias percussions, Dimitris Kapoulas contrabass, Chris Polydoros saxophone - harmonica. a sound mix pure delight for my ears. they played music, sang, danced and performed some of Sofita’s songs plus swing, rock n roll and flamenco tunes, Sofia Vempo, Michael Jackson, Shaggy, Lady Gaga covers and many more. proof that a beautiful voice can sing everything!

and just a minute after my treat for hours of disappointing pathetic daydreaming ends up in delicious jam and crumbs scattered all over my mind, Moby appears and extinguishes my pessimism. lift me up! lift me up! oh lala lala! un – fucking – believable! yes! I am 100% sure now that 99.9% of my foolish dreams do come true after all :)

color me

judging from the presents of grumpiness and bitterness that I received these days I must have been in Santa’s ‘naughty list’. ok Santa, you are right! I have been naughty. and I have told lies. and I have swore. and I have made thoughts about hurting other people’s feelings. I confess and I am sorry… I am sorry because I didn’t enjoy it as much as I could! YES! I can think of a few moments that I should have sworn instead of crying like a dumbass. and I should have told lies instead of the truth thinking that when truth shines even the blind can see… pfff! and I should have made my thoughts reality instead of imagining only the satisfaction I could get. besides a bucket of paint splashed on a garage door or a night out with a hot date in the place someone hangs out, never killed anyone.
anyway. Santa, I took my lesson and I’ll try to be better to myself this year.

new year’s resolutions:
1. lie, swear and huff more.
2. realize and have no doubts in any case that I am always right.
3. spend more time with my cat.
4. produce and direct a b short movie shot with a 300 euros or less camera.
5. memorize multiplication table.
6. engage to a Jensen Ackles look-alike (he doesn’t have to be an actor or star in my movie).
7. get rid of the darkness and put some colors in.

happy 2012!

p.s. as for the color masters above and beneath, all photos from the 1st graffiti festival that took place at Gardenia square in Zografou, 16 and 17 December, last year of course :)

dog days are over

grrr!!! I control the situation here! I am the boss! I do whatever I like! my strength is immense! besides my feelings turned bullet proof for some time now.
pfff… yeah right…
I want to sing my heart out and dance like crazy! do something like those north American rain dances but instead of rain drops I will plea for acknowledgement.

happiness hit her like a train on a track
coming towards her stuck still no turning back
she hid around corners and she hid under beds
she killed it with kisses and from it she fled
with every bubble she sank with a drink
and washed it away down the kitchen sink

run fast for your mother run fast for your father
run for your children for your sisters and brothers
leave all your love and your longing behind you
can't carry it with you if you want to survive

and I never wanted anything from you
except everything you had
and what was left after that too

happiness hit her like a bullet in the back
struck from a great height
by someone who should know better than that

the dog days are over
the dog days are gone
can you hear the horses
cause here they come

the smile

two days ago my beautiful friend A. invited me in a theatrical play that she took part. the story: The Story of Vasilopita based on the book of Stelios Pelasgos with the same title. the director: Roubini Mosxoxoriti. the actors: the theatrical workshop team of Zografou. 26 amateur actors sharing their passion for expression and doing their best. the result: interesting, touching, remarkable! bravo!

I enjoyed it so much. this and the musical performances that preceded. and the dancing performances that followed. and the smile boost therapy that took place throughout the whole event. after all, the unexpected sincere smile from unknown lips is better than the longing tricky smile from familiar lips that never reached you. way much better… thank you :)
