intercultural week 2010

the 2010 Intercultural Week part of the Thematic Workshop Week took place between January 18 and January 24 2010. was prepared under the auspices of the University of Athens and the Faculty of Early Childhood Education and was coordinated by Alexandra Androusou. professors, undergraduate students, Ma students, PhD students, teachers, kindergarten teachers. people listening, talking. watching, thinking. sharing their knowledge, thoughts, opinions and worries. a one week course, that reminded me of a playfield, which made us confront ourselves and overthink our beliefs, stereotypes, prejudices, biases, and anxieties for the foreigner, the immigrant… the Other.
such a luck to be a part of that team!

best moment of that week was when I was walking arm in arm with a friend in the city centre and under ironic black humour influence I made a racist comment about Albanians without being worried that I will be considered a ‘golden girl who loves dawns’... ha ha : ) we both laughed out loud. he is from Tirana.

... and then there, just across the street
a wonderful present was waiting for me...
one fine moment!

beautiful nightmare

I am resting on a sofa gazing at the candles and listening to sweet melodies coming from talented hands right in front of me. or maybe not... coming from far away. from an attic. a band is playing. a girl is singing. people are listening. I am listening. I am looking. he is looking. what a beautiful nightmare…
ouf! snap out of it!!! my God wake up at last! you have to move on whatever that means…

Scorpioi Scorpioi 2

it was a full week. sooo co co cooold!!! most of the days I couldn’t feel my toes and after I was returning home I was cuddling with the air heater. outside home most of the days. new faces. interesting stories. unexpected conclusions. stupid actions. lots of laugh. new friends from the kindergarten… I wonder, what are the effects of human cloning on emotionally unstable pre30 women… hmmm... nice mobile network surprises and disappointments. and a music interlude in between.
Sofia Kyriakidou guitar – vocals, Takis Sotirhellis vocals, Alexandros Koiliaris guitar – vocals, Katerina Vaiou keyboards, Vaggelis Sigounis vocals, Anna-Maria Bilida percussions. Scorpioi Scorpioi and Alexandros Apostolidis, who joint them on the stage for a song, spread an addictive poison in the air for about 3 and a half hours nonstop, which drove you into a melodic journey along with close by caresses, glances across the room and thoughts over countries.

remember:

find a discrete way to contact R. and D. they seem to be mad at me for some reason. don’t know why. I am mean but not to them… at least not recently.

D. Lafave and M. K. Letourneau are NOT role models.

I have to study… I have to study… I have to STUDY! problem: seems that I have bad time management. solution: not found yet.
